Summary Mar 12, 2008

Central theme-
Has your weight loss journey ever taken a detour?

Personal note.... I've had one of the biggest detours ever this week. I will be back on plan starting next week. I have to say, getting off plan was easy, but the benefits in no way offset the negatives. Yes, I did get a full feeling. Yes, I did eat a bunch of yummy stuff. But I also felt like crap afterward, fell asleep on the couch after eating too much, feel my belly growing by the minute, and feel undisciplined and out of control.

Yes, I made a discovery by going off the main road.... Stay on the main road!

Thoughts for the week-
Obstacles on the road:
  • Potholes- Unexpected Events
  • Speed Traps- Slow Scale Progress
  • Traffic Jams- Plateaus
  • Out of Gas- Boredom
Some Solutions:
  • Non-Scale Victories- Are the pants fitting better? Are you getting compliments? etc.
  • Good Health Guidelines- We went over them last week. Make sure you're following them.
  • Bonus Points- When you hit a pothole, use your Bonus Points, and hang in there 'till next week.
  • Schedule/Plan- Now more than ever is a time to plan ahead, review your food log, etc.

Closing quote-
Discoveries are often made by not following instructions, by going off the main road, by trying the untried.
